WOMEN IN PLUMBING & PIPING, A NONPROFIT MEMBERSHIP GROUP, LAUNCHES TODAY
The Organization’s Website and Innovative ‘WiPP Community’ Are Set to Debut This Week

AURORA, CO – November 1, 2022 -- Women in Plumbing & Piping, a 501(c)3 project focused on the empowerment and advancement of women in plumbing and piping nationally, formally launched today, project leaders announced.

WiPP’s mission is to provide a community of connection and empowerment for women in the plumbing and piping industries to thrive personally and professionally. The organization is built on four pillars including mentorship, education, networking, and education. These pillars all support workforce development including the recruitment of more women into the plumbing and piping industries and, once in, to ensure they have a path to success.

WiPP has launched a membership drive. It seeks partnerships with associations and corporations to drive this initiative for the these critically important trades.WiPP believes through its pillars, defined below, it will be able to influence and impact the lives of thousands of women working in plumbing and piping:

  • Mentoring: implementing a system/process to effectively connect women seeking guidance with experienced professionals willing to share their expertise to empower others toward achieving excellence in the industry.
  • Networking: establishing unique opportunities for women to connect and create strong, supportive networks of peers with the ultimate goal of gaining knowledge, advancing their careers and reaching their full potential.
  • Education: creating high-quality learning opportunities focused on business skills, confidence building, and self-advocacy to supplement technical expertise and advance careers.
  • Recognition: developing a program to celebrate achievements and successes, and provide scholarships to women pursuing careers in these fields.

WiPP is a fiscal sponsor project of the Denver-based National Trust for Nonprofits.

ABOUT WiPP: Women in Plumbing and Piping is newly established in 2022 by women seeking to create a community of connection and empowerment for women in the plumbing and piping industries to thrive personally and professionally. WiPP members are bringing the industry to a new level of excellence by supporting and promoting the contributions of women as an essential component to the future of these trades.
